Announcement from Board of South Kilburn Trust – Mark Allan steps down as Chief Executive
May 22, 2019
22nd May 2019
Mark Allan, our current Chief Executive, has decided to move on at this point in the South Kilburn Trust’s journey, and will be leaving the Trust at the end of June after nearly 6 years.
Mark has led us through an ambitious
and challenging period of growth and positive change to great effect. He helped
us form a partnership with Brent Council and with many local organisations and
enterprises, helped secure funding from the Mayor of London, refurbish a major
historic local building, and now run a successful large community, co-working
and event space, The Granville. The second phase of the redevelopment, due to
start in 2020, has just been approved by Brent Council.
Ros Dunn, Independent Chair says “Mark has been an excellent Chief Executive, and we are very grateful to him for leading us so successfully to this point. We recognise we can’t keep someone excellent forever, and thank him for leading the Trust through some very challenging and very rewarding times“.
The Trust has a great team in place, supported by the many users of The Granville, our partners, and other key stakeholders. We recognise it’s important to maintain momentum and continuity in all aspects of our work, therefore Mackenzie Chapman, our current Director of Operations, will be the Acting Chief Executive from early July 2019 while we recruit a permanent Chief Executive. Mark Allan, current Chief Executive says “I have genuinely enjoyed my time here and gained lots of great experience about leading an organisation and running a community and enterprise hub. It has been a privilege to be part of the development of The Granville, and helping the Board, and the many people I have met along the way, start to create a long term legacy for South Kilburn“.
The Board wishes Mark all
the very best and while we reluctantly let him go, we look forward to welcoming
someone new to take us on the next stage of our exciting and ambitious journey.
